March 31, 2007Part Seventeen: And I will wait to find, if this will last foreverPart Seventeen: And I will wait to find, if this will last forever The rock candy's melted, only diamonds now remain Pete drove back to his house in silence, watching carefully as Destiny checked her bruises in the mirror. Occasionally, Charlie or Dirty would interject something about how hot it was when Destiny slapped Anna across the face or something, but for the most part, everyone was silent. . Once they pulled into the driveway, Dirty and Charlie raced into the house, apparently they had some video game related score to settle, it didn't much matter. The slammed the door shut and Destiny watched them go, touching her lip softly, tonguing the bruise. "You okay, kid," Pete asked, noticing a hint of sadness in her eyes. She nodded softly and sighed deeply. Peter reached over and ran his hand across her back, rubbing softly. Destiny put her head down and felt moisture creep into her eyes. "I really fucked up, Pete. I just fought with the first girl he's ever loved. Now he's really never going to forgive me," she replied, her voice getting tight. This is the first time in a long time Destiny could remember crying, she could remember feeling so awful about something she had done. Pete shrugged and leaned over, pulling Destiny to his shoulder, letting her sob softly onto him. Destiny felt completely out of touch, she couldn't remember who she was anymore. She always let her rage cloud her judgment and it always proved to have a negative outcome…why couldn't she learn? "Pete, I never meant to hurt anyone! How did I let this happen? I blew it, it's really over. I can't even believe I did this…" she said softly. "Desty, he's going to forgive you. He always forgives you. Even after you slept with Andy, he still loved you; he's always willing to give you another chance. Anna is his past, she's all of his lessons, you are his future, it's what he wants, trust me. You haven't lost him, that’s impossible," Pete said. Destiny sat back and stared into Pete's tired eyes. She was always surprised when he got like this with her, she had no reason to be, but she always was, yet she was always grateful. "Dest? You know I love you, right?" Pete asked. She smiled at him softly and nodded. He grinned, reached up to her eyes and softly touched it, feeling her wince, "good. So let's go put some ice on that, huh?" Destiny sat on Pete's bed, holding some ice to her eye and lip. She felt really stupid for doing this. She made herself look like a total loose cannon, and it just wasn't really her. Pete sat on the edge of his bed and knocked back two pills. Destiny sighed. "I really wish you'd stop doing that," she said. He shrugged. "I need to sleep tonight." "But you won't anyway." Pete huffed. "Just, shut up, okay. I don't care," he said, lying down on his stomach on the bed. He turned his head to look at Destiny. He felt deep down inside of him that she was never going to leave his life anymore. He was afraid for a while that she was gone for good, but now he knew that they had something deeper than just the common bond of Patrick. He couldn't explain it. They weren't lovers, but it was more than a sibling feeling, too. He just knew he loved her a lot and that he would fight for her again if she needed it. "Pete?" "Hm?" he said, his eyes closed. "Thanks for helping me tonight. It meant a lot to me. I love you too," she replied, sitting the ice packs on the table beside the bed. He let his eyes open slightly and smiled half-heartedly. No words really needed to be said between the friends for them to understand what the other was thinking. Destiny scooted herself over and buried her head in his chest, sighing deeply as he wrapped his arms around her tightly… Patrick left the club a few hours later, along with Joe and Marie. The three of them hopped in a cab together, letting Patrick go home first. "Guys," Marie began, "what the fuck happened tonight?" Joe started to laugh. "Anna got her ass kicked!" Patrick rolled his eyes and sighed deeply. "This shit isn't funny," Patrick said grumpily. "Dude! You should be happy; two hot girls just beat the shit out of each other over you. That doesn't happen everyday," Joe said. "Thank god. I can't believe this," Patrick said, his eyes watching the city fly by him. "I don't know about you man, but that fight was a total turn on! Two bitches going at it like that, hot. I swear." Marie giggled and rolled her eyes as Joe placed a few kisses on her neck than to her lips. Patrick gagged. "Gross. Can you two…not…do that?" Patrick said, shifting uncomfortable in the seat. The cab dropped him off at his house and he waved but to Joe and Marie, shoving his hands deep into his hoodie, wondering how things got so crazy so quickly. He was glad the "Hey," he said softly. Destiny smiled. "Hi," she replied, keeping her seat. "Patrick, look, I…" "Dest, I can't even begin to understand why you've done all the things you've done these past few weeks, but…ugh! You're sticking with me, you're still here," he said, pointing to his heart. "Despite everything, all the things I love about you and all the things I hate about you, I can't shake you." "I never meant to hurt you. This whole thing got out of control and I couldn't stop pit. I'm never going to be sorry for what Andy and I did, but I am sorry for what it did to you, to us. And I'm 100% sorry about that fight. I can't even remember it…is Anna okay?" "She's pretty bruised, but I think her ego got it worse. She'll be fine." Destiny smiled, she never hated Anna, she was just purely jealous of her. Jealous of all the things she shared with Patrick that she could never obtain. The jealousy just got the best of her. "Can you EVER forgive me? I never, ever wanted to see you in pain. I'm so sorry," Destiny stood and walked into the soft light from the street. Patrick felt his stomach flip and the butterflies took a hold of his voice and emotions. He opened his mouth but nothing came out, all he could do was stare at her in awe. "Why me?" he asked suddenly. Desinty shook her head, indicating she didn't understand. "Why me? Why fight for me? I'm nobody special. I'm just Patrick," he said. Destiny took a few steps toward him, their bodies now inches apart, neither of them pretending to be shocked by the currents flowing through them. "That's just it. You "Desinty, I…" "I know." She leaned forward and gently pecked him on the lips. "Let's never fight again," she stated. "I love you," he whispered. Destiny leaned in again, this time pressing her body against his, wrapping her arms tightly around him as he pulled her close. The two of them felt at peace once more. The time apart was an eternity. Patrick felt a sudden surge of emotions race through him and he wanted to get down on one knee and pop the big question right then and there, though his better judgment told him to take it slow for now. "Patrick," Destiny breathed. She was surprised she had any breath left after that kiss. "What?" he asked softly, brushing her hair behind her ear. "I want to do it. I want to move in. Yes, I want you, I want us, I want a family. I've never wanted anything more in my life…" ************************* But this morning

March 30, 2007"Function" Part 16!"Function" Part 16: Show me what you got If you were wrong then I was right and this will be the right time Patrick felt himself panic. She wasn't supposed to find out about him and Anna, but what did he expect after telling Joe. Joe would tell Marie, Marie would tell Destiny, of course. The two girls had formed a strong bond over their relationships. Destiny cautiously peered around the club, desperate to exact a perfect revenge and in her mind, what she had planned basically involved yanking every strand of hair out of Anna's head and making her face solidly unrecognizable. Destiny never once thought of her actions as being slightly hypocritical, or a little over the top, because as far as Anna was concerned, sleeping with Patrick was crossing over into territory that didn't belong to her anymore. Technically, it didn't belong to Destiny anymore either but that wasn't the point as far as she was concerned. She had yet to let go of Patrick, never regretting her time with Andy but feeling a little bad about how it effected that which had been her and Patrick, as a couple. Destiny decided to go for catty, making Anna personally aware of her disaffections, and then punching her into unconsciousness. She went back to Marie, after thoroughly scanning the club without any sign of Anna, and pulled her along in the direction of the bathroom. The girls had to pass by the bar on the way to the bathroom when it clearly caught both of their eyes: Anna, touching Patrick and both of them looking happy, in another world. Destiny felt her face flush and her temper rise significantly. It was one thing to hear about them, but it was quite another to actually have to see it. She burned deeply because they actually looked good together and it made Destiny completely self-conscious of what she was doing with Patrick. She had taken to ignoring her friends always telling her how beneath her Patrick was, that she could do better. But she felt like she didn't want or need anything better than Patrick. He turned her on just by looking at her. Destiny now did what she was always ashamed of but could never control, she turned herself off. Everything she did from here on she would never be able to recall, she called it her black out period and only very few people ever got to witness the event and no one ever liked it. Marie felt Destiny pull away from her, and felt her reaction time was too slow; she was unable to stop her. Destiny reached into her jeans and pulled a hair tie out and tied her hair into a ponytail, letting it swing as she marched to her targets. Without any hesitation, Destiny grabbed Anna by the hair and pulled her backwards, making her face her. Anna screamed slightly, shocked at the sudden aggression on her scalp. "Destiny! Don't!" Patrick yelled, but he too was unable to stop this. "Okay, what the FUCK is your problem?" Anna huffed at Destiny, yanking her perfect fingernails away from her head. "You, bitch! YOU! You are my FUCKING problem!" Destiny yelled. Patrick stood watching this complete train wreck, feeling like the entire situation was his fault, but out of his hands. "Why do you hate me so much?! I don't even know you!" Anna yelled at her over the already loud music. "That," Destiny said, pointing to Patrick, "is no longer yours! Mind your own shit, or fucking pay for sticking your ugly face where it doesn't belong!" Destiny yelled. Anna felt herself go red; this girl had zero right to tell her she wasn’t allowed near Patrick. Anna knew Patrick back when he was a nobody, they lost their virginities to each other and they were still really good friends. She might have made a stupid mistake sleeping with him the night before, but it felt good and it felt right, she wasn't apologizing to anyone. "From what I know, he's no longer yours either so you're argument is pointless. Secondly, I've known him long before you have; I feel that I have more of a right to talk to him than you do. So maybe you should be the one to mind your own "shit", as you put it so eloquently, and butt the fuck out," she said. Destiny stopped and stared at this girl. This girl…Destiny smirked cattily. No one, and she meant no one, talks to her like that…Anna rolled her eyes and continued to try to turn away, when Destiny launched her full on attack of Anna, grabbing her this time by the back of her neck and dragging her to the floor. Pete wasn't paying much attention, flipping mindlessly through the CDs he had with him when he heard a commotion from downstairs. His vantage point gave him a clear view of every inch of the club and he peered over the railing just in time to see Anna's body hit the floor, Destiny standing above her. "Shit!" Pete exclaimed, jumping over people in the DJ booth, running in the direction of the bar. She was going to get herself kicked out and he wanted this all the work out, he wanted to see her and Patrick back together because she was the only thing that kept him smiling even when he was far away from her. Anna was shocked and thoroughly embarrassed by the current situation she was in. She never thought in her life that she would have to physically fight for Patrick, not completely sure that she wanted to either, but this wasn't about Patrick anymore, this was about the sheer disrespect Destiny just showed her. Quickly she got to her feet and faced her attacker, breathing heavily, feeling eyes on the pair of them. She curled her hands into fists, ready to swing at Destiny's perfect face when she felt her body get pushed backward and Destiny once again took a chunk of Anna's hair into her palm and this time yanked hard, but Anna got the better of the situation swinging her left arm back and letting her tightly curled fist collide with Destiny's perfectly applied eye shadow. Destiny let her grip loosen on Anna's hair. Anna took Destiny's moment of weakness to forget about who she was for the time being, and shoved her back, pushing her up against the wall beside the bar. Destiny huffed loudly, the world around her was completely black, she only saw the rage surrounding her and could feel no pain whatsoever. Destiny reached her hands up and shoved at Anna's shoulders roughly, hard enough that she once again fell to the floor, this time Destiny lunged at her, landing her angry fists once in Anna's eye, and then she opened her hand and slapped her hard across the face. Anna yelled and started to kick furiously, trying to get Destiny off of her as they both began pulling at each others hair, Destiny's ponytail slowly sliding out of the elastic. Destiny moved herself from above Anna, trying to drag her across the floor, when Anna gave one more desperate kick and ended up kicking Destiny hard in the ribs. Destiny yelped and then growled as Anna once again took advantage of her weakness and slap her hard across her mouth, breaking the skin and smiling evilly as she saw Desinty's blood begin to slip out and her eye bruising. Destiny remained firm, clawing her way to her knees before smacking Anna hard once more across her face, this time in rapid succession, once scraping her eyebrow, the other across her nose and Destiny felt a certain amount of joy as she heard the girl yell again and blood began to trickle out of her nose. Destiny suddenly heard faint noise, but she fought against it hard, determined to make Anna pay for even breathing the same air as Patrick. Pete broke through the crowd of people, fighting his way to the girls. He watched with sincere worry as security descended upon the fight. "Don't touch them!" he yelled, still shoving people out of the way on his way to the pair of them. Destiny screamed loudly as she felt someone grab her wrist, yanking her backward and she watched as Anna got pulled off the floor. She fought against the restraint, with little avail, sticking her stilettoed feet out to try and kick Anna with the last bought of endurance she had. The security guard grabbed her other arm and pulled her backwards, before shoving her body up against the wall. "Don't touch her!" she heard someone yell from behind her. Pete had pushed his way through the extra security and was now coming to her defense. She saw Charlie right behind him, yelling heatedly with security. Pete grabbed Destiny's arm and pulled her away from the wall, as the security guard tried to grab him to pull him away. Pete let go of Destiny and grabbed a hold of the guy's shirt, slamming him up against the bar. "Pete!" Charlie exclaimed beside him. Pete glanced over to see Anna being attended to by another guard and he felt rage deep inside of him. He didn't care who attacked who, but Destiny was his sister as far as he was concerned, Anna could go fuck herself. The guard leaned away from the bar and grabbed Pete again, ready to physically throw him out of the bar. Pete felt threatened immediately and let the rage inside of him grow and begin a full on assault of him, fists flying. "Pete! Stop!" Destiny yelled. She grabbed him, swelling with pride over this display of affection, but she didn’t want him getting hurt because of her. Pete backed off the guy and he huffed, pointing out of the club. "YOU "What the fuck is everyone looking at?! Go!" Charlie yelled to the crowd still surrounding them. Pete turned his attention back to Destiny, taking the sleeve of his shirt and wiping carefully at the blood around her eyes and mouth. He watched with a scowl as Patrick skipped over Destiny and went straight to check on Anna. "You okay, babe?" Pete asked her. She nodded. "What just happened?" she asked, her throat feeling dry and sore. "You just beat the shit out of Anna," he said grinning. He couldn't help but smile as he said it. "I did what now?" she said, her eyes widening. "Ouch," she said as Pete grazed her eye. "She got you good though," he said. Destiny scowled. "Fucking bitch," she replied with a soft smile. Pete placed his arm over her shoulders as they got ready to leave. Patrick watched as they passed behind him, and then quickly jogged over to see if Destiny was okay. "Destiny, are you o…." he began, trying to see her face. "Fucking save it," Pete said, shielding her from his glance. "Pete?" "If you wouldn't have slept with Anna AGAIN, this never would have happened. You don't deserve this girl, you know that. I've always told you that, but this time it's because of you, not her. There IS something wrong with you Patrick. You're weak," he said. Patrick stepped back, cocking his head at the strong words that came out of Pete's mouth. He figured he deserved it for what he said to Pete last night, but it still hurt. Destiny walked passed Anna and her friends as she left the club with Pete and Charlie. "Bye, bitch," she said as she reached over and smacked her in the face one last time. "Fucking BITCH!" Anna screamed as she jumped from her seat. Her friends grabbed her and sat her back down and Destiny flipped her off as they went out the side door… ******************************** I‘ll display my disaffection

March 26, 2007DreamsArent they wonderful. Let's talk now about the pointless and uneventful dreams...that are oddly intriuging. Let's go with what I remember. *thinks hard* I have no idea where it started but here it is: I was dating Patrick (pleasent, yes) and they were doing some kind of interview i guess, i can't remember. Next I just remember the two of us walking down this long hall, following the rest of the crew and then my dream was focused on him grabbing my hand and i just felt whole...isnt strange how dreams can make you feel real things? And then he had to go through this like...press gauntlet of sorts and I got stopped, that we couldnt be seen together or something. So I'm standing there and just watching him get his picture taken and then Bridget comes up behind me as Pete goes walking through this gaunlet. lol, and then someone was like, "you guys just want to get to other part of backstage, right?" and we were all yeah we do. So this woman pushes us through this huge throng of fans and press people and tells us to go around this tent, so we did and then we kept walking to where this guy was just standing there watching to make sure people had passes, so I just unzipped my hoodie and Bridget didnt have anything, but she got through with me. Then we walked down this supe busy hall, then we ended up in this foyer where all of these fans were waiting to get into a show (?????) and then Bridget and I sat down at the bar and that was the last I remember. Straaaaaaaange.

March 22, 2007"Function" Part 15Part Fifteen: So suck your so called pity down Now just sit here and talk about how you wanted it all A few hours later, Patrick awoke on his couch, trying to get his bearings in the dark. He glanced up at the cable box, reading the yellow blur of numbers, and felt someone shift over him. Startled, Patrick looked down barely able to make out a feminine figure curled over him. Reaching over and turned on the light next to the couch to the lowest it was able to go, he looked down again, saw Anna, and smiled, relaxing. Things were getting back to normal. And he was smiling again…until he began thinking. He was smiling for all the wrong reasons. His heart still belonged to Destiny. And his stomach turned at the thought of what he had just done. He felt sick. He felt used. He felt, dirty. He let out a frustrated sigh and shook Anna awake.
“A little after nine” he replied. Anna nodded and sat up, realizing that they were both still naked. “Uh…” Patrick nodded. “Yeah…um…” This was awkward. Patrick thought to himself that maybe he shouldn’t have been so mean to Pete. He was good about the awkward conversation after a one night stand, and he kind of needed it right now. “So, um, I’ll call you and we’ll hang out when you’re in town?” Anna suggested, pulling her clothes on. Patrick coughed and nodded. “Yeah, I’ll…uh…I’ll see you later…or something…” ********************************************** Destiny and Marie walked arm and arm into the club, preparing for one last party before the boys departed to Patrick saw the three come in and felt his heart beat faster. Before this morning, he had invited Anna to the club and she had arrived with a few friends not minutes earlier. Anna made sure as she walked around to make her presence known to people who thought she was forever out of the picture. She noticed when Destiny sauntered into the club with Joe and Marie and Anna felt her cheeks burn, Destiny was ridiculously beautiful, it was no wonder Patrick loved her so much and it was also no wonder why she hated Destiny so strongly. The whispers of how serious they were getting burned her. It was like a cruel slap to her and all the years she put into her and Patrick back when no one else gave a damn about him. It wasn't fair. Patrick quickly motioned to Joe to come over him when he saw Anna eyeing up Destiny and Joe excused himself from the girls. "What's up?" he asked. Patrick leaned closer, feeling sort of embarrassed that he was going to admit this for the second time tonight. He had already mentioned it to Pete. "I slept with Anna last night and she's here right now," he said, backing away to judge Joe's look. Joe let his mouth fall open. "Dude, why? What? How? …more importantly, why?" Joe asked. Patrick shook his head and looked down at the table. "Moment of weakness?" he said. Joe shrugged. "Good luck explaining that to Destiny. You know her and Anna have never gotten along, despite Destiny trying to be nice to her. It's going to kill her, dude," Joe said, wearily glancing at Marie who was eyeing him questionably. "Listen, why should I feel bad about sleeping with Anna? Destiny and I aren't even together anymore. She was messing around with Andy. Why should I feel bad? …why do I feel bad?" the last question he directed more at himself. "That's for you to answer. Dude, I hope shit works out. June is a long, long time away for you guys to stay like this," Joe replied. Patrick nodded solmnly as he watched Joe head back to the table in which he longed to be sitting. Destiny was looking stunning, beyond belief. Her light brown hair was straight, sleek and shiny, her lips were glossed and her eyes lined perfectly without a flaw on her skin. Her jeans were hugging her in all the right places and her halter top showed just enough cleavage to make him crazy. Her toe nails were painted to match her stilettos and Patrick could feel himself getting hard, so he quickly turned his face away before pulling his hat lower over his eyes and sighing deeply. Marie grinned as Joe approached, but Destiny noted how quickly her smile faded as Joe whispered in her ear. Marie leaned her head over and snuck a glance at Patrick, glancing at Destiny quickly out of the corner of her eye before turning back and whispering into Joe's ear. Joe left the table shortly after finishing a beer and left the girls alone again. Destiny scooted closer, "What did Joe just say to you?" she asked quickly of Marie. Marie sighed. "Do you really want to know?" Marie asked, staring into Destiny's glaring eyes. She nodded slowly. Marie leaned over and whispered into Destiny's ear, "Patrick and Anna spent last night together." Destiny sat up straight and cleared her throat. This wouldn't be such a big deal to her if Anna had ever been nice to her, if Anna had ever taking the opportunity to know her at all, but instead choose to judge Destiny merely because Anna was a jealous ex-girlfriend. Now Destiny knew the reason why Anna kept smirking at her all night. Anna was unfortunate, because she knew little about the wrath of Destiny, but was sure as hell about to find out. Happy Valentine's Day, bitch Destiny thought as she straightened her top, flattened her already straight hair and approached Patrick's table. Pete glanced up and saw Destiny approaching and leaned over, shoving Jeanae out and beckoning everyone to follow him, he left on the excuse of needing to set up for his gig. Patrick gulped as he watched her hips sway while she walked, she was pissed. "Hey, baby," she said, a sly grin playing her face. He wanted to play this game? Well, two can play along. "What?" he asked, his tone meaner than he meant it to be. She backed up and feigned shock. "Aren't I the one who should be pissed here?" she asked him, her voice echoing over the loud music of the club. Patrick sighed; here she goes with the fabricated drama. "What do you have to be mad about?" he asked. Destiny grinned evilly and slid her body in the booth beside Patrick, draping her slender arm over his neck, pulling him closer. "Aren't you the one who called me a bitch to my face last night?" she said, making sure she was looking intimidating. Patrick looked her straight in her eyes, suddenly thankful for his Anna faux paus, Destiny deserved it. "Aren't you the one who was being a bitch? Don't try and act like the fucking victim here. You hurt me too," he replied, "and I think what you did to me was "At least I'm not being a hypocrite. How's Anna?" she said. Patrick let his mouth fall open slightly as he watched Destiny's eyes sparkle with sheer crudeness. Destiny grinned at him wickedly, raking her fingers across the back of his neck through his hair, before kissing him quickly on the cheek and sliding herself out of the booth, slinking away, in search of her next target: Anna. ******************************************* So take your cold, cold heart and drown

March 21, 2007"A sense of Function" Part FourteenAN: Christine basically wrote 90% of this whole chapter because I was physically unable to do so. So, thanks Pinky! A lot! Enjoy guys! Part fourteen: I told you not to believe in me 'Cause all I do is push you far away from me Destiny woke up the next day, the sunlight hitting her face on the couch. She sat up slowly, groaning against the pounding in her head. She felt her stomach acids churn and turned quickly to a strategically placed trash can and emptied her sickness into it. She groaned again as she wiped her mouth. The last thing she remembered was Patrick calling her a bitch and leaving. She hiccupped and shook her head, how did she get here? "Morning," she heard a groggy voice say from the kitchen. She nodded at Joe, who was sleepily grabbing pop tarts from the cupboard. "Joe? How did I get here?" she asked her throat dry and scratchy. Joe laughed, approaching her with some Motrin and a glass of water. "Well, after Patrick left, you proceeded to drink anything you could find and I'm pretty sure you blacked out somewhere. You don't remember anything?" Joe said, a smile playing on his face. "Oh god, I do not like that look," she said, sitting up slowly. "The last thing I remember was Patrick calling me a bitch, after that, nothing comes to mind," she said. Joe smiled more and shook his head. "So you don't remember giving Charlie that lap dance and listing everything that was wrong with Pete and how much you thought he was an overrated, talentless hack?" he said. Destiny's eyes widened. "Oh my god, please, fucking tell me you're kidding," she said. Joe shook his head. "I'm pretty sure Pete was blaming it on your blood alcohol content, because he asked that you call him sometime today," he said. "Shit," she muttered… A few minutes later, Marie emerged and took one look at the green color of Destiny's face and grabbed her a piece of toast before going to sit by her. "Hey," she said watching Destiny wearily take a nibble of the bread. "Pete has a DJ gig somewhere tonight, want to go? It will be the last time you get to see Patrick if you want to," she said. Destiny nodded. She really, really wanted to see Patrick. She wanted to apologize and try to see if she could make things right again. This whole thing was making her crazy. Her and Patrick weren't meant to be apart, they were meant to be in each other's lives. She needed to fight for him. "Yeah, I definitely want to go." ********************************************** Patrick sighed as he pulled the car into the driveway and he stared up at his front door. A six hour flight couldn’t get Destiny out of his mind. Just the mere thought of her name, sent his stomach into flurries. And each time, he shook his head, turning his Ipod up louder, hoping the music would drown his thoughts out, but each song only added to his heartbreak. It seemed that his Ipod was going through the same feelings, playing every heartbreaking song he had downloaded into the little machine.
He sighed and turned off the car, opening the door to the bitter
Patrick walked, shivering to the door and watched his shaking hand slide the key into the hole, turning it and opening the door, welcoming the warmth, and the eerie silence. He swallowed hard. Something was telling him that something big was going to happen. It was like a monkey on his back, and it bothered him, but he shook it off, dropping his bag on the floor by the door, kicked off his shoes and walked into the living room.
His phone began to vibrate in his pocket and he let out a frustrated sigh as he pulled it out and saw who it was. Patrick rolled his eyes and put the phone to his ear.
“Dude, you busy?” Pete sounded upset, as usual. Patrick looked around the empty, uneventful living room. “Yes.” he lied. “Fuck.” Pete breathed out defeated. Patrick shut his eyes, now feeling bad. “What’s wrong?” “Nothing. It’s nothing.” Pete replied, his voice jittery. Patrick picked at his shoe. “What’s wrong?” He asked again. Patrick heard Pete sigh, and knew there was going to be a long story involved. “Jeanae and I broke up.” Patrick scoffed. “Again?” He didn’t mean for it to come out that way. Yes he did. Pete was taken aback. “W-What?” he stuttered, wondering if he heard his friend right. “What? You act like this is something new. What did you do this time? Or who did she sleep with? Did you not call her earlier? Is she flaking again? Come on Pete, tell me. What is the new development this time?” Patrick felt his anger rise. Pete stared at his phone in shock. “Patrick, I--” Patrick cut him off. “You know, you think you’re the only one in this band with a fucking problem. Well guess what Pete, you’re not. You’re not the only one staying awake at night thinking about shit. You’re not the only one in this band going through a tough time. But you don’t give a shit about that do you? You don’t care because it doesn’t involve you. It’s not you’re concern so you don’t bother with it.” Pete was silent, so Patrick continued. “Want to know what I’ve been doing? Nothing. Want to know why? Because the girl I loved with all my heart, is gone. Both of them. G-O-N-E. You act like you have some superiority over everyone because the girl you’ve been fucking for the past four years keeps going back to you. And then you want to bitch and complain every time you break up again like it wasn’t already inevitable. So you calling me to whine that ‘the girl you love’ hates you is useless, because I am done caring about it. I’m done caring about you and this stupid bullshit you pull every time. Take another pill and get the fuck over it.” Patrick hung up the phone in a violent huff and threw it down next to him. What had gotten into him? His rage was boiled over now. He was beyond the point of calm. His phone buzzed again next to him and without looking at the ID, he answered it, thinking it was Pete again.
“…Patrick?” the familiar voice cooed through the phone, startling him. “A-Anna?” “Yeah…Is everything okay?” She asked, her voice sounding concerned. “Yeah…yeah, no I thought…I thought it was…never mind. Uh…why…I mean…um…what…why did you call me?” Patrick stuttered. He thought he was never going to speak to her again after they had broken up, and here she was on his darkest day he had since they ended. He heard her sigh. “Patrick….listen, are you busy? I kind of want to stop by and talk.”
Anna’s smile shone through the phone. “Okay. I’ll be there in a few…Pookie Pants.” She hung up the phone in a giggle, and Patrick smiled for the first time today. It had been so long since he had been called that. Destiny wasn’t one for pet-names. He sat, relishing in the old familiarity oh her voice, before realizing she was coming over and darted to the bathroom to make himself some what presentable, and, well, not heart-broken. About half hour later, his doorbell rang, and he jumped from his position in the kitchen. He stared at the clock at the wall, and watched the second hand almost stop. He pushed himself off the counter, and hurried to the door, but stopped himself as he lay his hand over the knob, calming himself down. Not wanting to seem desperate to see her. But he was. And he didn’t know why He slowly opened to door and his heart immediately warmed as he saw her standing there, smiling back at him. Patrick moved to the side to let her in, taking her coat as she looked around the foyer. “Nice digs.” she smiled. “Eh, it’s not much. You should see Joe’s apartment. It’s way better than this place. And it’s an apartment.” He joked, trying to find why he was so nervous all of a sudden. Patrick led them into the living room and watched her sit upon the sofa, and followed her movements. “So, you guys are home. How are things?” Anna asked, realizing the awkwardness that came with a year of separation. "It’s going well. About the best it’s been, pretty much ever. How are you?” Patrick shifted, turning his body toward her. Anna nodded. “I’m getting by. I actually was cleaning through some stuff yesterday, and I found some of your things that I thought you would want.” she said as she outstretched a shopping bag to him. Patrick opened it to find an old hat, one he thought he had lost, and an old t-shirt, that probably wouldn’t fit him this time. He smiled and placed the bag down on the floor beside him, and looked up to her. “Thanks.” Anna nodded. “But I’m sure that’s not the only reason you came by.” Anna sighed, and looked to his shoes. “No. No its not…Patrick, I…..I miss you. A lot. I miss how we used to be. It was crazy and demanding, but I miss that. I miss being able to wake up and get a phone call from you. I miss being able to wake up next to you. I miss going to the movies, and doing stupid dinner dates, and singing karaoke at Pete’s house. I miss us.” She finally looked up at him. Patrick was startled. He never expected that to come from her. “I’m sorry about not being more understanding about everything. I should have been, I should have been there more. This is who you are, this is what you want to do. I should have understood that.” Patrick looked at her. His heart was making a wrong turn. He could feel it, but he couldn’t stop it from spreading the words to his mouth, avoiding the filter in his brain. “I miss you , too…” he whispered, hoping she wouldn’t hear, but she did. She reached out her hand to his, at first covering it, then getting bolder and lacing their fingers together, smiling.
Patrick smiled tightening his grip on her hand as she inched her way closer to him. They’re faces were only inches apart. Patrick swallowed hard. He knew where this was going. He knew they were going to be doing something very wrong in a matter of minutes. Part of him wanted to stop it all, and get her out of his house. But the other part of him thought about what she had said. They did fit perfect together. It was so natural. So unique in its own way, but so right. “Anna, I…” Patrick began looking down at her. Anna shook her head, leaning her head over to his, pressing her lips to his, both their tongues crashing together, their heads tilting for better access. As Anna moved, the tip of her nose hit Patrick's glasses, making them tilt and giggled as Patrick mumbled something about it. Her hands found their way to his head where she threw his hat off and crammed her hands into his hair, already giving him sex hair. Patrick emitted a soft moan from the back of his throat and Anna shivered upon feeling Patrick's cold hands wrap around her back and up the back of her shirt…. ********************************** …No, I never had to give up of holding onto you

Dear Hanson: way to move to #3 on my list (edited!)so okay. last night was the Hanson concert and let me just say...WHAT THE FUCK!? so, first of all, bridget and I got there around, say quarter of six and it was cold. So we walked around trying to figure out will call and whatnot, and found out that there are two lines. One for 21 and over, the other for 21 and under. It sucks cos Bridget is 23 and I'm still a kiddie. Let me tell you guys about the Crocadile Rock for a minute. I have been there four times before and each time the place was a disorganized mess. I went there to see Dreamstreet (bear with me) back in 2001 and they waited until five minutes before the doors opened to tell us we were waiting at the wrong door. Imagine hundreds of prepubesent girls trying to fight their way in the other door first...not fun. so anyway, we get there and we have to stand in the kiddie line and as the sun goes down, it gets colder and colder. The doors were opening at 7 and by 7:15 we still werent inside so we got out of line and sat in my car until quarter of 8. Yeah, total bullshit. So then, we get inside and its PACKED. there is no where to go. We were right by the merch table so we bought tshirts (mine says: "Hanson. Freshly squeezed Rock n Roll") and you know, stood by this rail behind the stage. We could hear things well, but...we couldnt see jackshit. SSo, we decided to go in search of a bathroom, and we get down stairs and there is like, a huge line. They wouldn't let any of the girls use the boys room (like, why not? there were about five dudes there) so i just sat and waited for these girls we met and we went back upstairs. There are two sets of bathrooms in the place and the other one by the bar was blocked off, why? Oh, because Hanson needed it. Yeah. There was this pregnant chick and she wasnt allowed to use the bathroom because there was a Hanson in there. Obviously she was pregnant, not like she wanted to jump anyone. Anyway, we are standing there basically behind the stage and Jessica (Hanson's little sister) is like, definately getting a real kick out of all of us crazies. She just had this smug smile on her face the whole time. I know she thinks we are all nuts...which, pretty much is a fact. if you arent a Hanson fan, its kinda hard to understand the magnitude of it all. Hanson fans are THE MOST insane people you will ever meet...EVER. they travel from all corners of the earth to get a little glimpse of these MARRIED MEN. srsly. they are all married, i think its time to calm down. There were these girls there that flew in from Flordia to go to all four of these preveiw shows. Which, preview, like, what a joke. They played three songs from the new album while i was there. They did open with "Great Divide" which I am totally greatful for, cos I would've been mad if I didn't hear that song. *sings* But i digressssssssssssss. So we are standing there and then the opening act is dragging all of their equipment off stage in front of us and then we wait around for 2 hours before Hanson even takes the stage. It was about 8 or so when the openers left and Hanson took the stage at 10. yeah, 10. they were supposed to start at 9. Apparently, the Croc Rock (or hanson?) overbooked the show by about 400 tickets. In a venue as small as the Croc Rock, 400 tickets makes a HUGE difference. The reason why they started so late was because someone called the Fire Marshall and he came in for an hour and 1/2. Hanson's dad Walker was walking around (haha) and some girl was like 'hey walker next time pick a better venue' and he was all "yeah, i think we will." Classic. And some drunk chick totally tried to get on him, it was pretty much the highlight of my evening when he goes "have you been drinking" to her. niiiiiice. THEN, Hanson quite obviously had to come up the back stairs and through the side door to get on the stage since technically there is no backstage really at the Croc, so this asshole security guard was basically yelling at people to move down so they could clear room for the guys to get on stage and people are like "where would you like us to go?!" fuckers. So then this guy is like, "you guys from here over, go to the other door and you will get to actually see Hanson, omg!" and i was like...no. But being the nice, good citizen I am, i left the back area and walked around to the other side door and was met with no room to even walk in the door. So then this dude comes in and is like, "21 and over follow me." Damn it! He took those people to the balcony and they got the best seats in the house. fuckers! So I'm standing there, miserably smoking a cigarette thinking "this wasn't worth the pnemonia I'm going to get." So then Hanson FINALLY starts playing and they are all like "thanks for waiting in the cold. Sorry you guys in the back can't see." Gee, thanks Ike, your sypmathy is heartwarming. Bridget still had to drive home to New York, so we had to leave the show after about 10 songs. Zac played "The Walk" and I felt complete so we could leave. They opened with "Great Divide" played some new songs, um...(not in order) "Dying to be alive", "Lost without each other", "Strong enough to break", and thats all I can remember, really. Bridget, I am forgetting anything? All in all, I'd say: SHITTEST CONCERT EVER. for real. 1) Say Anything 2) Fall Out Boy 3) Hanson. sucks to be last.
I'll be posting the two pics and the three videos for you guys later. Just so you can get an idea of how shitty it all really was.
EDIT: from Bridget: I told Dave about the show and how shit it turned out to be...and he was like 'why'd you leave early?' "I had to come into work" and he shrugged--wish I knew that last night 'cause I woulda come home early this morning. so, nice. now I'm mad at Hanson, too.
